Mini Update

Things are moving fast. We were told yesterday that an adoption hearing could take place sometime this summer.

I am writing to ask for one prayer. Usually they wait until a child is in care for 6 months to file an abandonment charge. It won't be 6 months at the February hearing (only 5 months), but they are going to request this so that her case can be expedited a little. There has been no contact from either parent since birth and they don't feel like waiting any longer is doing her any good. The case workers are frusterated with continuing to try and make contact when they clearly don't want any (It's been almost 9 months of that). Please pray that DSS will consider all these peices and make the move to go ahead and petition the TPR in February.

While the word "terminate" is very heartbreaking, in this case, it's opposite. Her parents gave her life but that is the extent of involvement. Their addiction has and will come first, before their own child. It doesn't seem fair to leave this little soul in the middle of limbo waiting on parents that have moved on. I continue to pray for their health and that they find Jesus (in the middle of their war).

I know we will pass her 1st birthday without any thing final, but it will be just one step closer to giving her a forever home she so deserves.

We take everyday at a time and love her unconditionally. She doesn't know any different; yesterday/today/tomorrow we are mom and dad. Praise the Lord. Having it official will just be the cherry on top--God willing.

"You alone are my anchor when my sails are torn. You surround me in the eye of the storm."
